Shruthi K., with a score of 685 marks, has topped in Tamil Nadu and is ranked 10th among the top 20 women students in the country in this year’s NEET UG, the results for which were declared on Wednesday.
Among the top five physically-challenged persons, Karvannan Prabhu K.K. of Tamil Nadu, with 572 marks, has been placed fifth.
This year, as many as 59,785 candidates, of the 1,23,078 who appeared, have qualified. This amounts to 48.57%, which is nearly 10% points higher than last year. Last year, 39.56% candidates had qualified. A total of 1,38,997 students had registered for the test from the State this year.
The qualifying score for the general category is 134 and as many as 7.04,335 candidates have been placed in the 50th percentile. The all-India topper in NEET UG, Nalin Khandelwal, has scored 701.
