The condition of all patients admitted to the isolation ward in the Government Medical College, Ernakulam is said to be stable. On Monday, another patient from Varapuzha was admitted to this ward, taking the numbers of patients to eight. The new patient had reported contact with the Nipah patient earlier.
Body fluid samples were collected from five patients, including the newly admitted one and one patient each admitted in Thrissur Medical College and Idukki district hospital. Samples taken also included the second phase of testing for two patients already admitted in the hospital.
Earlier, a trial run was done for setting up a 30-bed isolation ward at the medical college hospital. The trial run included the time from when an ambulance would bring in a patient and how the patient would reach the isolation ward.
